Daddy

I have had my camera out more lately (yay, that's the goal!).  These didn't fit with today's photo challenge word, but I love them!

photography challenge: chevron

Apparently I am not a trendy designer... not a lick of "chevron" anything in my whole house!  I had to dig out a piece of fabric I knew I had in my stash somewhere, then decided to stick something in front of it.  In this case, that something is my sweet 7 year old boy, who only gave me two shots to get it right.  The fabric is SUPER bright, but because of it being blurred in the background, the colors turned out very muted.  I like it much better in black and white, where the colors don't look washed out because there is no color!  Learned something about what that blurred background effect will do to a bright patterny background.  Love learning!

Inspiration: October 30 Day Photography Challenge

I need photography inspiration!  I saw this photography challenge on Pinterest... I am jumping in on the list for October, hoping it gets me taking more pictures.  Purposefully.  My goal is to learn more of the technical side of things.  Keep my camera in manual.  See what happens.

Welcome to my New Blog!

I am going to try this blogging endeavor again... mainly for selfish purposes.
One, I would like to keep a better record of what's going on in our daily lives, so I can remember all those cute and not-so-cute things the kids do that I know I will forget. That is one of my favorite things about looking back on the blog I kept a few years ago.
Two, I want to have a place to post my photography, hopefully motivating me to do more of it and get better at it.
Three, it's a fun grown-up outlet for a busy mommy like me, to try and form coherent thoughts, reflect on my life, and use up all those words I have left at the end of the day.

The name of the blog reflects how I feel about my life right now.  We are constantly moving.  All the time.  Packing, unpacking.  Saying goodbye, making new friends.  Decorating, then redecorating.  Finding a new hair person every year or two.  Such is the military life.

I'll be happy to have you join me on this bloggy journey if you like!  I know I'll have at least a couple grandparents along.  ;-)
